Resources

Goodspeed Publishing, History of Knox and Daviess County (1886
)A.O. Fulkerson, History of Daviess County, Indiana (1915)
These books contain a great deal of useful information concerning people, places, and eventss of the 19th century in Daviess County.  Readers should keep in mind however that they are written from a certain perspective to be flattering to county residents of their day and shouldn't be taken as unbiased sources. Many of the stories they contain cannot be verified.

State Historic Architectural and Archaeological Research Database  (SHAARD)
This is the recently completed (2012) register by the Indiana DNR of historic places around the state. Very useful for finidng origin and geographic locations for cemeteries, buildings and other places of interest.

Historic Newspaper Database
The Carnegie Public Library in Washington hosts a digitzed collection of pre-1925 Washington newspapers. Keep in mind while searching that many of the older newspapers were in poor condition, and the text recognition progrram wont't recognized many words, making keyword-searches tricky.
